Hi and thank you all for your responses.

My niece does not have fever, and now of course, they assured her that they won't be keeping
the baby longer than necessary. she is pumping and I advised her to bf as often as is possible
and get them to give him her milk. I also suspected retained placenta and advised them to check that
possibility out. vomiting has subsided, so now it seems only the jaundice remains.
will keep you posted.
