Dear Doreen
I have just finished preparing my material for recertification by Cerps.
Look up all the updated statement : RECERTIFICATION BY CERPS 2012.
In the past years, you were requested to give in ahead of time your Individual Application for CERPS approval , for an extra fee, and then you were told how many cerps you would get.
This year, they allow you to do this still ( there is attached a special link for this) , but again, with a fee. Otherwise, figure out how many cerps you think you deserve for that specific symposium ( they give specific instructions how to figure this out) and write down that number and send it in with all your material, and you aren't asked for an extra fee.
This year many of the ways to get cerps are without the required extra fees that they have asked for in the past.
You still have quite a few years to collect the needed cerps but it is good that you are concerned with this already.
Sincerely, Leslie Wolff IBCLC Israel

Really sounds like they are intentionally making it easy to take the exam and difficult to get (enough) education credits. That tells me what they prefer that we do. It also seems like a LOT of last-minute work for them to verify 90 hours of CERPs by deadline. My perception is, someone may not recertify because the Board cant meet the deadline.
