IMHO, you do not need gloves to help a mom with breastfeeding, gloves to change diapers: yes, but not to assist with breastfeeding.  My hands don't come in contact with body fluids when helping a mom to nurse... I do wear non latex gloves to do a suck assessment, have had to sprinkle glucose water on them to get baby to suck on the gloved finger, but other in that, what contact is the hospital worried about? :)
