Dear Friends:
A mother I have worked with has been nursing well for the past few
months. She went back to work last week and called me a few nights ago,
complaining of a sudden fever, and a place on her right breast that is tender
and pink. I suggested she go to bed, drink lots of water, nurse/pump lots on
that sore side and call her physician in the morning if she wasn't better.
Her regular physician wasn't in, so she was seen by another doctor who
diagnosed.................shingles! Told her to pump and dump on that right
side, and pray her baby doesn't get chickenpox.
This mother is a healthcare professional and has seen shingles in her
clients. She knows she doesn't have shingles. There are no blisters and her
breast is tender, not exquisitely painful. Her regular physician will be in
today and she will contact that person.
     Amazed,
