Tina:

 first thing I would try is a conventional shield, my preference is the
newborn size but that may not work with this baby as he/she is used to
something LONGER in his/her mouth.

  towards the end of the feed have mom try to take him off and relatch him...
sif this works slowly and gently reduce the time the shield is on until they
latch without.

  .. remember breast compression prioir to latching so that his mouth is
FILLED with breast.
