The most obvious sign of retained placental fragments is increase in lochia
flow or no change (color/amount) in lochia flow. Some women will have pp
hemorrhage due to the inability of the uterus to involute properly. I have
spoken to other women who had depression along with no change in lochia flow
and it was discovered they had retained placental fragments.
