Dear Marsha,
Thanks for your suggestions, esp the bit about a straightforward approach,
and working together.  Although we have tried this approach and failed in
the past with this same person, in my heart I know that this is the approach
that will likely yield the most positive results.  And breastfeeding has a
higher profile and priority within my organization than it did a few years
ago.  In fact, the drive to raise standards of practice around bfdg advice
by bringing this person's education up to date was started this time not by
me or my department, but by management.  So that in itself is a sign of
progress, I suppose.
