Hello again!
Can anyone give any insights into this problem for me please? This is the only info I have at this stage. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any advice I could give this woman. She is planning to homebirth and is almost 39 weeks pregnant, I haven't met her yet, just email contact. Homebirthing and giving a baby artificial baby milk, doesn't sit right for me, however I am trying to maintain an open and nonjudgemental mind when deciding to support her. I think if I can better understand her problem I can better support her.

"This (Breastfeeding) was an issue when i had my daughter also the midwives at the hospital treated me a down look for not wanting to breast feed. My reasons for this is because during my daughters pregnancy i suffered with what i was told was cysts in my breast by gp, my nipples turn purple for up to 15 mins and feel like a swarm of bees are attacking them she told me i would not be able to breast feed so i didn't! The pain in my breast went away after having her how ever. And since ive been 6 months pregnant with this pregnancy ive had the same thing again but i had it fully checked out and got an ultrasound done on both breast to clear cysts, mastititis, infections and so forth. It appears it's possibly related to a pregnancy milk duct seeing it is only in the left breast. But this is not the reason i am chosing not to breast feed with this pregnancy."

Once again, thankyou in advance! :-)
Blessings,
Rachael
