Elizabeth Hormann, LLLL, IBCLC, Mothering author, and resource extrordinaire
has written a number of things on the issue of adoption, including
breastfeeding and.
I don't have her current address, (we lost touch when I returned to US from
Germany, where she was living at time, but she may have moved back.)

I can refer anyone needing further resources to some of her work. I also
keep an old copy of Pat Brewster's Breastfeeding . . .even in Special
Situations around for loan to adoptive moms. It is out of print, but
occasionally available in used book stores. I find the anecdotal information
in it very well received by Moms. I also try to keep a list of articles from
LLLI's New Beginnings & Mothering on special topics like Adoptive Nursing.

Well, this better be my last post for now. I'm getting so tired that my
fingers are hitting the wrong keys on a regular basis, requiring double
typing. That, and our kitten is meowing at me, suggesting it is time to go
up to bed. Our college age daughter got a puppy & kitten since this summer
and so my husband and I now find ourselves once more in a 'family bed', only
of the feline/canine variety. We haven't quite figured out how they ended up
on our bed versus hers however . . . .
