Hello Lactnet Friends,
I am posting this on behalf of my uncle who is doing research for a
book he is writing. I thought it was interesting in it's own right and one of
you may know about the origination of the story.
He is looking for the source of a story that he needs to document. It
is a story wherein a toddler gets too close to the edge of a cliff and the
mother cannot yell at him to come back. She does the only thing she can do,
that is to bare her breast to the baby drawing him back from the edge. This is
a story to illustrate the mercy of God and is an ancient Roman or Greek
story. He is looking for the source or documentation for it. Have any of you
heart this story? Do you know where it comes from?
Please email me privately as well as to the list.
Thanks in advance for any information.
