Help, I have a situation that I am not familiar with. This mom is 35, her
child is 26 months old now. She breastfed for 14 months. When baby was about
8 months old, she noticed some slight decrease in sensation in her breasts
(both). She thought is was "normal"/natures way of dealing with an older baby
that may scratch or bite. The decrease in sensation continued to point that
both breasts are numb. She talked with her primary care MD about it and he
stated is sometimes happens and is related to nerve damage. It could take 3-6
months to resolve. After 8 months of continued numbness (with an occasional
tingle in the nipple), she again talked to her MD. He again said it could
happen and to give it another 6 months. It has now been about 16 months since
it all started. Also of interest is that she has begun having what she
describes as migrane headaches in the past year. A couple of the headached
came on so severe in a 30 seconds time period that she actual ended up on the
floor with severe pain in her head. She had forgotten to mention this to her
MD.
SO help me friends......what do you think is going on ???? She is on no meds,
no trauma, etc.
Thanks, Rose in Sunny San Diego
