"(speaking of lacquer for nipples, my dh has been amused/shocked about all
the young women he sees with their nipples showing and can't figure out
how they got them to look "cold.")" Cracking me up, Johanna!

This nipple thing is something I've just never "gotten", but I'm noticing
more and more references to nipples (more specifically, what we used to call
"pp's", or Perky Points) as a fashion statement lately. What's up with that?

Now perhaps I am just enough of an aging hippie (I stopped wearing a bra
over 30 yrs. ago and haven't gone back!), but I just don't get what the big
fuss is about. Like, women have nipples, & sometimes the nipples poke up &
sometimes they don't, get over it! But now I'm hearing on the news & fashion
reports that "nipples are very big this year" (snort, chuckle - do they mean
it's going to be extra chilly?), and reading about ways to "enhance" their
perkiness. Good grief! You know, I've noticed that we don't have similar
"fashions" as regards the prominence or state of perkiness of men's personal
indicators (well, there was that "Seinfeld" episode about "shrinkage")...You
never hear "erections are *in* this season" as a piece of fashion advice!

Cathy Bargar RN IBCLC (who did find it amusing when her teen-aged daughters
would refer to chilly weather as "it's a little nippley out today"! But I
wouldn't even *begin* to share with you the many expressions I learned from
them regarding male anatomy/function!!)
