Hello everyone! My name is Tina Smith and I used to subscribe to this list
a long time ago and just thought about it again as a great resource for
ideas for our upcoming local BabyFest.

All the information about the fest is here: www.fresnofamily.com/babyfest
but the gist of it is that our local attachment parenting mommy group is
hosting this great new event and we are wanting it to be much more than
just a place to buy/sell things...we are using the words "celebrate and
educate" to describe the intent of our fest...we really want to provide a
service to our community to educate our local families on all the really
fantastic ways we know of for helping moms and babies to be healthy and
happy. Of COURSE this includes breastfeeding!! That is top of our list! We
even decided to not allow formula reps or any reference to formula to be
present at our fest. We're using the terms laid out in La Leche League's
conference info to explain this.

Anyway, my question for you all is...what can you tell me that would help
us with our fest? We are looking for more information booth vendors to
provide presentations, and/or info booths to help us educate our community
on the importance of breastfeeding. I would love to have someone have a
booth about the breastfeeding awareness campaign! I have an email in to the
L.A. chapter of that...but perhaps someone here might be able to help with
that?

I have searched the internet and local phone books for other organizations
that might be good for our fest, but I figured that I am probably missing
some...and there also may be some in nearby communities that wouldn't mind
travelling for this event. If you have any info for me, it would be
wonderful to hear from you! Especially if you are local or willing to
travel for our event. :)

You can email me directly at [log in to unmask] if you have any
questions or ideas for me. :)

I hope to hear from someone here about this! I know there are things I'm
not thinking of that this wonderful group of lactnetters could tell me
about! You're the experienced ones! I bow to your wisdom, LOL!

P.S. I hope all this is ok to put out here on this list...if not, please
let me know and please forgive me. I am unsure of all the rules, as I
didn't see any when I rejoined and its been a very long time since I was
here.
