Norma, I don't think you are over-reacting as you are writing about your grandson! However, he's waking, cueing and feeding well, gaining appropriately and peeing adequately. (Some babies don't mess around and don't take long to nurse. His "flutter" also may be signs that he's working to trigger another MER.) He's shown he can poop during first days. Perhaps he had to play some calories catch-up? If he's not uncomfortable, I'd relax a bit and just deep a watch on it: a daily or every other day weight, signs of increasing discomfort, etc. With all he's been through, he also may be a bit more at risk for some physiologic jaundice, although would think you'd have seen signs by now. You've been looking at outcomes, and they still serve best...

My grandson had difficulties initially and it really helped me to talk to a colleague who helped (or tried to help) me maintain perspective! (I'm available if another grandmother's support would help!)
