In defense of milk banks, which I only know about, but have never used and
certainly don't profit from:   It is not the milk you are paying for--it is
the process.  It cost money to screen, transport, pasteurize, store, etc.
This is the reason for the cost.  Also, in case you did not know it--we
donate blood, they sell it.  Come to think of it, it costs hundreds of
thousands of dollars for transplants of donated organs.....Hummm. However, I
do not want to see the day when human beings are treated as cattle and women
are the value of their milk.  Not a good idea if you ask me, which I know you
didn't.  Also, the idea was "fortified"----fortified with what?  No matter
how you look at it, I don't see it as a good thing.  I would like to see more
milk available and less expensive, but am sure there must be a better way.
