I actually read an advisement against Playtex standard nipples in
some of the breastfeeding information I had when our first child was
born--something about the shape of the nipple teaching babies to
clamp down while eating.  I'd love to find that reference again, but
I think it is long gone.  I think it was just in a little pamphlet,
but since then I've alerted all my clients to the possibility that
this particular nipple may cause problems.  It certainly seemed to
cause problems for our daughter, who started gnawing on me after her
experiences with this nipple, and I made the connection when reading
the pamphlet later.
