Currently ILCA is asking for suggestions and ideas on developing information for Breastfeeding in Emergencies.

You can go to: http://www.ilca.org/emergencies/Questionnaire_BFinEmergencies.doc to download a questionnaire if you would like to add your information/experience.

Emergencies WILL occur here in the US and worldwide - the trouble is, that they happen unexpectedly and then everyone is running around trying to find out the information they needed to have had on hand and training should have been given well in advance.

Every state in the US has Emergency Preparedness staff now - and every county has funds to prepare for an emergency - but unless WE REMIND THEM that BREASTFEEDING MOTHERS AND THEIR INFANTS will be part of the population that will need assistance, they forget to address those needs.

Those of you who have experience could make this a much more valuable tool - so please consider taking the time to offer your information and suggestions.
