It is worth writing to Supernanny's producers.

Supernanny has had three, maybe even four, series in the UK and she
is very popular. Some of her methods led to severe criticism from
agencies such as the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Children) and other professionals, who took particular
issue with her notion of the 'naughty step' (and would you believe,
you can now buy *branded* naughty steps and naughty mats from the
Supernanny shop?! ) and the way children, sometimes in distress, were
used in the programmes. Parents, too, are judged - but at least they
can give their informed consent about appearing on these shows.

However, the more recent series are less focussed on placing children
on the naughty step, and seem to be less judgemental of the parents.
I think that maybe the production team has decided to meet some of
the critics' objections.

So if she is shocked at a 14-month-old 'hanging' off the breast,
then write to the producers. There may be 'boundary' issues with the
children in the family, and maybe they do need help for all I
know.....but let them know that her help should not be based on some
notion that it is de facto 'wrong' to bf a toddler. There's plenty
of evidence to show she is the one that's wrong.
