Dear Lucy,
 Re: your questions about dads in the breastfeeding class. I teach
several classes that include fathers but require different formats
mostly due to time constraints. For my most thorough class, I include a
short spiel given by a man who has been through the breastfeeding
process as a father. He touches on several issues: feeding the baby
indirectly by feeding his wife (s.o.), other ways he can connect with
the baby (bath time, play time, tickle time, evening walk around the
block with baby in a sling or snuggly). He specifically addresses
issues pertaining to men;
sexuality in the postpartum period, sleep deprivation - getting through
it, sharing his wife, feeling like a third wheel, etc. The guys are
responsive and ask questions.
Good luck , Katherine Abdun-Nur RN CLE
