Hello:) It seems tht the more i study for the IBCLC exam, the more question i have than answers... I was wondering...According to Riordan and Aerobach (1998) Cortisol inthe form of glucocorticoids is secreted and synergistically (sp?) works with prolactin in increasing milk supply. it helps carry water and nutrients across cell membranes. If this is true, what happens in time of stress when glucocorticoid (cortisol) levels are really high. wouldnt it follow that milk supply would be really high instead of taper or completely drop off? thanks for any inut:)

Also thanks for all the posts about PKU and negative coworkers. to update you all on that...my supervisor said they would be rewriting the BF policy shortly and asked for any evidence based info i could supply her, and thanks to Dr. Newman and the rest of youall here at lactnet, I was able to give her a BOAT LOAD of info :) thanks for all your help:)
