Does anyone know of a referrence for "larger amounts of IV fluids given to
mothers
can cause edema in her- and in her baby?" I see the edema in moms all the
time with their swollen ankles (I suggest appling cabbage to relieve edema).
And, I have wondered about these larger babies who seem to lose 10-15% in
just 2-3 days. I don't usually see this large a weight loss in the smaller
babies. It doesn't make sense that only the larger babies would have
excessive wt. loss due to edema and not other babies with similar birth
histories. Is this more theory than fact?
