Hi Jennifer. Welcome to Lactnet.
I agree that this baby needs supplementing ASAP. Does this mom have a
breast pump? If not I recommend renting a hospital grade double electric
pump and have her pump both breasts together 6-8 times a day. She can
use her own milk for supplements. Also 'wear' her baby skin to skin and
give free access to the breast. Cluster feedings are normal. This baby
needs 10-14 feedings per 24 hr day. I also recommend immediate referral
to an IBCLC.
Babies should regain to their birth weights by 2 weeks old, and many
experts say by 1 week old.
     Let us know what happens.
