A Norweigan mother breastfed puppies

When it was about living or dying of puppies of a rare breed, a 23
year old Norweigan mother Kine Skiaker decided to give what she was
able to. Luckily Kine produced enough milk to feed both the whole
litter of 11 puppies and her own son, 3 months old Emil.

The mother dog, Aida (of dogo canario -breed), died at delivery of the
litter last Friday. Eleven puppies survived.

Puppies were born at about 8 pm, so it was too late to try to locate a
"wet nurse". I saw only one solution. I had to breastfeed them by
myself, Kine Skiaker told.

She asked about a vet, just in case, if a human could breastfeed
puppies. She didn't get an actual green light, but Kine decided to do
what felt right.

Kine breastfed in turns her son Emil and the eleven puppies, yet
drousy after the birth. I stayed up all night, it was quite tiring. I
washed myself carefully every time it was Emil's turn to breastfeed.
Breastfeeding puppies doesn't hurt because they are born without
teeth, besides, their suck is weaker than that of a human baby, Kine
explained.

Kine told about her problem on a radio program on Saturday morning,
and they managed to find "wet nurses" for each puppy during the
weekend.
