Women do not HAVE to nurse. If we accept that it is the child's right to be
breastfed, and a woman doesn't want to breastfeed, then there is a simple
solution -- don't have children. This goes for many aspects of
child-rearing. If you are not prepared to take care of a child as it
deserves to be taken care of, then DON'T HAVE CHILDREN.

Hell, in the US we require more scrutiny of ability/willingness to care for
dogs and cats adopted from the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals) and wild horses adopted from the Bureau of Land Management than
we do of human beings getting ready to have children.

To adopt a cat/dog, you have to promise to get them neutered, you can't
adopt a cat if you let your current cats go outside, you can't have more
than a certain number of pets in your home, and all your animals must have
veterinary records showing that their immunizations are up to date and they
are healthy. To adopt a wild mustang, you have to have a certain amount of
land, separation of other livestock from where the mustang will be living,
shelter, and a corral of a certain size and strength. You can also be
visited at any time during the first year by inspectors from the Bureau of
Land Management, who can take the horse away if they think it is being
mistreated or neglected (because the horse belongs to the government for the
first year after you adopt it).

I've known many parents over the years who seem to want to have children,
BUT they don't want the bother of breastfeeding, or getting up at night, or
holding their child, or talking to their child, or listening to their child.
You wonder why in the world they have children. And these are planned
children, not just "Oops" ones.
