I too have seen many mothers practicing ecological bf whose menses
returned before 6 months, and I know it's not necessarily an
indicator of poor bf management.  However, I do think it can be a
clue, and calls for more information.

The mom in the original question also apparently had not just one
cycle but several in the first 6 months, and they were very regular.
I believe that scenario falls farther outside the range of normal
than having one or two, probably irregular cycles before 6 months.
