First, congratulations to the company for having such a great policy
for new mothers and their babies. Many companies are willing to
arrange pumping facilities, but to allow the baby to come to work is
much more unusual.

The company wants to reward or encourage breastfeeding, and EBM in a
bottle is in that gray area. Then you get into the problem of not
wanting or being able to check the milk in the bottle to see if it
really is EBM. Babies need to be close to their parents, no matter
how they are fed. Is the company worried that all the new moms and
dads will want to bring their babies to work at once? Not likely.
Even in the "worst case scenario" and all the people with kids under
6 months bring them to work, how many people is that at any one time?
How many people in each office or department? If it's a lot, have
they thought about having on site child care? In either case, it is
really very unlikely that too many people will take advantage of this
policy.

Seems to me this is a wonderful opportunity for the HR department (or
whoever has this job in this company) to look at the policies and
really think about how they are supporting and can continue to
support families. Keep in mind that this is a good kind of problem to
have. Many people in this business would love to have the problem of
dads and moms wanting to bring their babies to work so that they can
feed them, even if it is through a bottle with EBM.
