I've worked with a lot of mothers whose children
weaned between 5 and 11 years (mostly on the earlier
end) and I don't recall a mother describing soreness
(such as pregnancy soreness) related to weaning. I
have heard mothers discuss soreness/tenderness in the
lactating breast while ovulating/menstrating. I've
also heard a few mothers discuss discomfort when the
infrequent nurser goes to town on an "almost dry"
breast. (Particularly true for leaner moms.)

It also happens that a mother will have a "sudden"
tenderness or lump some time after the last nursing,
and just-one-more-nursing empties the breast of milk
and satisfies the situation.

Are you asking about prolonged soreness after weaning?
