it's so much better now.  one of my major issues was the shot to shot
time since i'm often shooting quickly wiht my kids or at births....

ime, digital zoom is worthless and very negatively affects pic
quality.    if there is a macro setting it's much better then relying on
zoom.  my camera can shoot up to something like 4 or 5 inches away for
macro shots.

the issue of blowing up shots is a huge issue.....if you're trying to
blow up shots personally i'd do nothing less than 5 mp and absolutely
not rely at all on digital zoom....it'll be blurry.
