For some odd reason, I see more fractured clavicles and femurs here than
I ever did in a suburban hospital. I have been finding that using
football hold on the side with the fracture (i.e. if baby's fracture is
on the left side of the body, mom nurses in FB hold to keep the fracture
away from her body - left breast. Usually if cradle hold is used in with
the sore side "down" baby is less uncomfortable. Can the Doctor use a
harness or tape this little one's leg? How would he like a fractured
limb "hanging?" Poor baby...
