Marsha made a great point about how we seem to "get it" with animal bonding
but not people. Another good example is to read the cans of kitten "milk
replacer" (formula for pets whose mothers abandoned/died) right there on the
instructions it urges you to get the mothers milk if at all possible, and
even mentions the importance of colostrum. Also, in pre-vet training this
was stressed as well, that milk replacers were an absolute last resort!
