Our anesthesiologists also use fentanyl in epidurals but deny that the
fentanyl can reach the baby.  Funny thing is that sometimes the babies are
very, very depressed at birth, but perk right up with Narcan.  I have no
doubt that this can affect the suck as well -- even if respirations are OK.
