I want to ask all fo you if you ahve any experience or ideas to help this mom.
I have her permission to ask you.

She was preg. with twins, and when she was ~29 weeks she was diagnosed with an
aggressive type of thyroid ca. At 32 weeks she had surgery done and nine days
later her twin girls were born. She started pumping right away. We talked for
a long time and even though several people were trying to discourage her from
breastfeeding she stuck to her guns and and now at 34 weeks both girls breast
feed wonderfully.

Now the hard part. She has to have radiation. Her endo. doctor told her that
they would start after she was done breastfeeding. She told me that she
doesn't think that he understands that should be over a year +. She knows she
can't wait that long. The Dr. told her she has to dry up prior to the
radiation and not pump during radiation tx because pumping would pull the
radiation into her breasts. Then she can not hold her babies to her or have
them any where near her chest for two months. Then she wants to relactate.
I've given her all the info I have on relactation: Breastfeeding with SNS,
pumping, Reglan, Fenugreek. Any thing I've forgotten. She will be happy with
anything, partial BF to full BF. This is a very special lady. TIA
