I wonder if anyone has suggested a different approach to this mother. I feel
a bit sad about the infant who will be weaned while his or her mother
continues to pump milk for a baby across the country. Has the mother (of the
baby to be born to a surrogate) considered establishing her own milk supply?
Perhaps her cousin who is breastfeeding now could increase her own milk
production enough to continue feeding her baby while providing some extra
milk for the expectant mother, to tide them over as her milk supply is built
up or to continue supplementing what this mother can produce. That way we
could have two breastfed babies, both of them getting the benefits of being
at the breast.
