Hello,

As I count my blessing I sit here feeling helpless. I truly want to help
out all of these moms and babies that are victims of this terrible
disaster. Aside from sending money, which I and my children have done, I
know there must be something we as Lactation Professionals can do. I
have read all of your eloquent and moving posts regarding relactation
and why breastfeeding would be so critical to the survival of these
babies. I also agree that the media needs to get involved and that the
breastfeeding world needs a spokesperson to get the message out. I will
pray that someone becomes our champion.

Do you think it is appropriate for me to ask some of the manufacturers
of handpumps for donations? I would not call any company that is in
violation of the Who Code. If these companies were willing to donate,
which agency would be best to distribute these pump to and how could it
be safe guarded that the pumps end up in the hands of women who would
use them and not be passed out to people that would be inclined to sell
them or trade them in for something like ABM.

Any ideas?
