Talking to a lactation consultant yesterday she asked me about a
breastfeeding mom who has had what appears to be persistent thrush for
the past four months. She has been taking mysostatin (I think.....its
the medication most commonly taken for thrush) but it hasnt helped. Baby
has been in hospital and the thrush has cleared in his mouth. Mom is
trying to eliminate dietary sources of yeast to see if this will help.
Any suggestions for what could be going on? the Mom's doc has not
cultured it ...lactation consultant has advised mom to insist on a culture.
