Jan --I would encourage you and anyone else on Lactnet to raise any issue of
current interest. My comment about the Archives was to let folks know that
they are rich with discussion on this topic raised -- and afford opportunity
to invresearch what has already been raised. Sort of like we use the
Archives to see what has already been said about BF and Vit D, or

I suspect our posts crossed -- I did address your question about ILCA
affiliates, and cut-and-paste that portion here.

Jan asks about ILCA affiliates' duties vis-a-vis ILCA, specifically one in
New Zealand. ILCA affiliates are expected to abide by the fundamental
principles and statement of purpose of ILCA. After all -- they are, um,
affiliates. All for one and one for all, right? Early 2010 is the
timetable for the launch of LCANZ, the Lactation Consultants of Australia
and New Zealand, the newest ILCA multi-national affiliate. There were
nearly two dozen smaller lactation advocacy organizations within the two
countries; some of those elected to join LCANZ; some elected to disband;
some will continue as-is. LCANZ is required to abide by the fundamental
principles and statement of purpose of the umbrella organization, ILCA.
