Nina, I have been taught that there is more mag sulfate in a bottle of
formula, than gets into the breast milk. Here we do not keep baby from

It is not usual practice in Australia to withhold breastfeeding from a
baby
whose mother is receiving MgSO4.  My understanding is that MgSO4 is used
here to treat severe pre-eclampsia/HELLP syndrome where there is a risk
of
seizure (and delivery, usually by c-section is immanent). Treatment
continues until the threat of seizure has passed (BP begins to
stabilize)
usually within hours of birth but occasionally longer.  BTDT!!!
