I thought I'd try and send this question one more time because I didn't get
a response from anyone on lactnet about it last week. A medical student
asked me last Thursday about MAOIs and breastfeeding. She wrote:

My question is about anti-depressant drugs. SSRS's are targeted at the
reuptake of serotonin and don't have any proven effects on dopamine.
However, MAOIs do - and while not a popular choice for antidepressants these
days- I just wanted to see if you knew if MAOIs have any effect on milk
letdown.

Does anyone know the answer to this? Or could someone look it up for me in
Hale? Thanks as always.

Jackie Wolf
