Hello,

My daughter's February Sesame Street Magazine arrived today, along with the
usual parents' magazine and an extra magazine (funded by Merck Vaccine
Division) entitled "Growing Up Healthy: Keeping Your Child Well From Crib to
Classroom." I was disappointed that the section on "The First 12 Months"
said nothing about choosing to breastfeed as a way of keeping your baby
healthier. I was also surprised their chart of "A Visit to the Pediatrician"
(a list of what the doctor will look for plus recommended immunizations at
various ages) says at 4 months "vitamin D supplements if your baby is being
breast-fed." I understood vitamin supplementation wasn't necessary under
normal circumstances.
