The cost of one untreated tt in my family:
7 years of speech therapy, two to three times a week ($70-90 per visit)
orthodontics and maxillary expansion ($4200 in the 1990's, goodness
knows what it costs now!)
washing sheets every morning due to sleep apnea
tonsillectomy to improve sleep breathing (finally did the frenotomy then
too)

That and all the suffering all that entailed! No one was clipping
obvious tt's in the 1980s, not one of the speech therapists ever noticed
it (I have all the reports to this day) and I didn't know Dr. Coryllos
yet. Had I met her earlier, my poor son would have had an easier
childhood. But then again, I might not have become a lactation
consultant if he had been clipped at birth and didn't have to struggle
to bf.
