I would leave the poor kid's bum alone.  If he is otherwise well, content,
leave him alone with the digital manipulation.  If he becomes unhappy, try a
suppository.  If he passes soft or pasty stool, forget rectal stenosis, a
suspect diagnosis if ever there was one.
