Jan, if you're using either WordPerfect or Microsoft Word, either will give
you this information. Here's how to do it:

WordPerfect – with your document open, go to Tools -> Grammatik ->
Options -> Analysis - Readability•

Microsoft Word – with your document open, go to Tools -> Spelling and
Grammar

Hope this helps!

Does anyone know if there is an on-line program that can automatically scan
a document and calculate the probable literacy level of it? I'm thinking
patient handouts here...
