One of the women that I work with challenged her husband to find all of the
research that he could to support not nursing their (then one-year-old) son
while she looked for all of the references supporting nursing the child.  At
the end of a week, they would compare notes and decide what was in the best
interest of the child.  I understand, he has not asked her again about early
weaning, even while nursing through a pregnancy and tandem nursing.  The
child is about 3 now.
