I am interested in the findings that milk collected in plastic bags is
the "dirtiest" as far as bacterial contamination. While the situation is
a little different, this brings to mind a question I have had for some
time.

I have been asked many times by mothers (of non-NICU infants) if using
ziplock bags were acceptable containers for freezing milk. I have never
been able to find a yes or no answer. While bacterial contamination is
not as much a problem in growing term infants, does anyone know if
there is something about these bags that make them less than suitable
for freezing milk for term infants.

TIA,
Judy Hatfield RNC, IBCLC
