The effect on breastfeeding is unknown, BUT greater than 99% of the drug is
protein bound, so unless there is some kind of active transport, not a whole
lot should get into the breast milk. Also, it has a high volume of
distribution (1.5 L / kg) which means it is widely distributed in the body,
therefore meaning less is available to enter breast milk.
Since the mother has taken the drug through out her pregnancy with efficacy,
it would be a shame to stop the drug or not breastfeed at this stage.
Please present this information to the mother and the health care providers.
