I can't see the rationale for not allowing breastfeeding right away just
because a mom says she "smoked some pot once."  Heck, I can't see
withholding breastfeeding if she used drugs for 4 years while in college, so
long she is not currently doing it.

Are moms advised of the consequences of such admissions beforehand?

I too find that scenario troubling.
