We have a patient who has chicken pox and gave birth yesterday . Has
anyone had experience with this situation? Should the mom breastfeed or be
kept isolated from the baby to reduce risk of infection, as has been
suggested. Even though the mom is suffering considerably with the illnes,
might breastfeeding provide some immune support for the baby. The
literature suggests there is a 30 percent chance that the baby will die
from this disease.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
