I just have to post this short conversation I had with my wife this morning.
It warmed my heart for so many reasons!

She asked me (when I was blathering on about scales again.) this <long>
question:

"If a mom sees via the scale that her baby is getting plenty of milk from
her, isn't she relieved? And the opposite, if she knows in her heart
something is wrong with baby's feeding and that is verified by the scale,
isn't she relieved to know for sure? Especially if, as I often hear from
your clients, that they are often blown off by the Drs and really need
validation? And, if she thinks baby may not be getting enough, but can see
by the scale, and the other clues that you educate her with, that baby is in
fact doing just fine, isn't she relieved? I don't know anything about those
34 studies you <me, Jaye> mentioned, but I would think that for the moms,
giving them any relief at all and easing their fears would be a good thing."

Works for me. And no, my wife has nothing to do with health care or
lactation - but she does often talk to the moms at my Parent's Group or when
they come over for a weight check.and she gets a damn good idea of what they
go through and deal with.

Warmly,

Jaye
