The usual advice to follow here are no solids until 4- 6 months. I'm sure this will change with the new WHO guidelines though.
Occasionally you will find an early childhood nurse who goes against the flow, but from what I've read on lactnet that seems to happen everywhere.
Breastfeeding is certainly expected and is the norm.Where I work (hospital about 160-180 births a month) we'd have about 1 woman every 2 weeks who'd choose to bottlefeed, and another 1-2 who'd give up during their 4 night stay.
