Recertification by exam or CERP's does not require additional credits. You are grandfathered in.

Subject: recertification question

I'm due to re-certify next year and have still not decided to retake the exam or to certify by CERP's. I was looking over the re-certification info online and would like some clarification on the eligibility requirements.

My question is specifically on the health education requirements as these have changed since I first certified in 2011. When re-certifying do you have to have proof of these additional requirements ie Basic Life Support, Medical Documentation, Medical Terminology, Occupational Safety and Security for Health Professionals, Professional Ethics for Health Professionals, & Universal Safety Precautions and Infection Control.

And is this different depending on if you re-certify through CERP's or Exam?

I have 2 bachelors degrees as well as a MS but medical documentation and medical terminology were not requirements of my program.

Thanks for any insight you can give me.
